1. What is PROPEL?
PROPEL is greater Portland’s premier young professionals networking and business organizational group. Formed in 2006 in association with the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce, our mission is to encourage and cultivate relationships between the future business and community leaders of Greater Portland. We do this through a series of networking events, educational seminars and community business organizing efforts. Please visit our News & Events page to see what’s on our current schedule.
2. How do I join and what does it cost?
PROPEL is a division of the Portland Regional Chamber. Therefore, if you or your company are Chamber members, congratulations, you get a free PROPEL membership! If not, you can join PROPEL for a low annual fee of $35. To become a member, please visit our Join PROPEL page and fill out the application. 3. What are the benefits of joining PROPEL?
PROPEL provides opportunities to meet young professionals who live and work in your community. We are the future decision makers and leaders of the Greater Portland economy. By furthering and promoting our own professional aspirations, we are building and solidifying Greater Portland’s future as Maine’s economic and business hub. 4. How was PROPEL started?
PROPEL began in 2006 as a collaborative effort between a small group of young professionals in Greater Portland and the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. Their common interest was to develop an organization that would cultivate and foster the interests and careers of young business leaders in Greater Portland. Over time, an executive board committee was created and PROPEL was born. Today, our organization continues to grow and adapt as we explore new and exciting ways to further our mission.
